SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM)

The SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) application provides functionality for managing complex scenarios for high-volume distribution operations.

In the past few decades, warehouses have evolved from simple receiving, storage and shipping facilities to full-scale, high-volume, flow-through distribution operations. Global competition has driven businesses to hold less Inventory and to get their products to market both faster and with more precise timing than in the past. Competition has also driven both local and global corporations to become leaner and more efficient and to react faster to both changes in the marketplace and in the internal business environment.

SAP EWM provides flexible, automated support for processing goods movements and managing stock in the warehouse complex. It is designed to work in high volume, complex warehouses that require support for complex processes. The application brings planning and execution functions closer together enabling the warehouse to take advantage of planning functions as well as complex execution functions.

Features of SAP EWM include the following:

arrow Yard Management
arrow Deconsolidation
arrow Cross Docking
arrow Value Added Services
arrow Wave Processing
arrow Handling Unit Management
arrow Slotting
arrow RFID Enablement

SAP EWM provides the option of mapping the entire warehouse complex in detail in the system, down to storage bin level. Not only it gives an overview of the entire quantity of a material in the warehouse, but it can also always determine exactly where a certain material is currently located in the warehouse complex. It can optimize the use of various storage bins and stock movements and can store together material stocks from several plants in random storage areas.

Aldea helps clients to gain real-time visibility and control of warehouse operations with SAP EWM. This can transform the operations into an adaptive fulfillment supply chain in which communities of customers, suppliers, and partners share knowledge and resources to adjust intelligently to market conditions. With the ability to respond faster to changes in supply and demand, it increases the competitiveness and ultimately improves the bottom line.

In addition to SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) functionalities including Demand Planning (DP), Production Plan/Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS), Supply Network Planning (SNP) and Global Available to Promise (GATP), Aldea brought SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) in to its fold. Aldea’s offerings include Solution Assessment, End to End Implementation, Objects Development, Resource Augmentation, Maintenance and Support services.
